Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the state, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Locals observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 households in the southern state also faced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred calls for help across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.
