A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
